Based out of Taipei, Taiwan, I am a staff photographer for Rhythms Monthly, one of Asia's leading geographic feature magazines. I started taking photography seriously in Central Asia as a way of exploring my personal and academic interest in the region. I have worked as a university lecturer in Tajikistan, Assistant Editor to the Times of Central Asia and as a Pamiri mountain guide, before settling on photography professionally. Wherever I work, I strive to represent my subject matter truthfully and do justice to the access I'm afforded in peoples' lives. I speak Chinese and Tajik fluently, and have a working knowledge of Russian and Uzbek. Various publications have featured my work in print and online.
